Just A Mum
On this website each activity blog is choreographed and photographed to capture those perfect moments with the help of Photoshop and Lightroom.
Life isn’t perfect and would be far too boring if it were all perfect moments. This blog is just like the saying ‘Life is like a camera, focus on what’s important, capture the good times, and develop from the negatives’. Behind the scenes is usually a very distracted mum thinking about the next task on the to do list. There is often a pile of laundry in the corner that needs attention. Doing it during daylight hours seems far too complicated to fit in so I usually tackle it at 11 at night before collapsing into bed.
I usually make a mental note of all the things I need to get done for the next day before I drift off to sleep … The list is always optimistically unrealistic but the night’s darkness cloaks common sense and reality … It is usually in this moment before sleep that the chapters for a book get defined and the solution to world peace gets mapped out.
Once morning arrives, I am often rudely woken up by my alarm clock or a very bouncy happy Little M (Big Y and I are the morning grumps) … I feel cheated of an extra hours sleep. The day seems set to unfold, unplanned and I salvage from my to do list what I can. As a result no two days in our household is the same. This section in my blog will contain the ups and downs as ‘Just A Mum’. I will blog tips and tricks that I have picked up along the way. But most importantly it is a safe space where mums still in their PJ’s at 3 in the afternoon and pizza dinners are totally accepted.
